Bainfield Juniors played in the Top Ten Junior League at Methil and although
they were defeated Graeme McLeod won a trophy for the best singles player in the
tournament.

On Sunday 16th April a target bowls competition was held at
Bainfield. The proceeds of this went towards the Scottish Young Bowlers Indoor
Test Series to be held in Wales from 21st to 23rd April. Two Bainfield
bowlers were picked for Scotland.

On Saturday the 8th of April a new pairs competition was held at
Bainfield and was a great success. the competition was sponsored by Wm Purves
(Funeral Undertakers). The names were drawn from a hat and the first prize was
won by Paul O'Donnell and John Douglas who shared £300. The
runners up were Chris Steven and Hazel Crombie who shared £150.
The final was well contested, Chris and Haze were 5 shots ahead with 2 ends to
go, but Paul and John raised their game to triumph by 1 shot.

The opening of the Outdoor green took place on Saturday 22nd
April and there was an excellent turn out with eight rinks being used. I will
update the newsletter in about 3 weeks and put them on each of the outdoor
notice boards.
