1: NAME: The Club shall be called "Bainfield Bowling & Social Club" 2: OBJECT: The object of the Club shall be to establish and further social intercourse among the members and, in pursuance of this aim, to promote the game of bowls and any other form of recreation or activity by which this may be achieved. The Club shall not associate itself with Sectarianism or Politics. 3: MEMBERSHIP: There shall be Eleven classes of membership as follows: - (1) ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP shall be open to any person, being and at least 16 years of age, but shall not exceed 450 in number, exclusive of Honorary, Life, Retired and Social Members. (2) HONORARY MEMBERSHIP may be granted only to persons who have rendered distinguished services to the Club, but shall not exceed 20 in number. (3) LIFE MEMBERSHIP may be granted to a Member who have given meritorious service to the Club, but shall not exceed 30 in number. (4) RETIRED MEMBERSHIP shall be open to any Ordinary Member aged 60 or over having at least fifteen years continuous Ordinary Membership (or in the case of Ladies, fifteen years continuous Lady Membership and Ordinary Membership) immediately prior to application for Retired Membership. (5) SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP will be restricted to such persons who, as at 28th November 1999, were Social Members of the Club in terms of Article 3 (5) of the Constitution of 22nd June 1998. (6) INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP shall be open to persons who are at least 16 years of age, but shall not exceed 1500 members, inclusive of Ordinary, Honorary, Life and Retired membership.(7) MORNING INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP shall be open to any person, who are at least 60 years of age, but shall not exceed 250 in number. (8) SOCIAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP shall be open to any person shall not exceed 50 in number. (9) TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP shall be granted to visiting teams playing a match against the Club in the Club premises and shall be granted only for the day on which the match takes place. (10) JUNIOR OUTDOOR BOWLING MEMBERSHIP shall be open to children between the ages of 8 and 16 years of age, but shall not exceed 40 in number. (11) JUNIOR INDOOR BOWLING MEMBERSHIP shall be open to children between the ages of 8 and 16 years of age, but shall not exceed 80 in number inclusive of Junior Outdoor Members. 4: MEMBERS RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES: (1) Ordinary, Honorary, Life and Retired Members shall enjoy all the bowling and the social amenities, activities and facilities of the Club and shall have the use of all the Clubs premises. They shall be entitled to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs. (2) Social Members shall enjoy only the social amenities, activities and facilities of the Club and shall have the use of all the Clubs premises including the Games Room but excepting the Bowling Greens and the Indoor Bowling Rinks. They shall be entitled to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs. (3) Social Associate Members shall enjoy the social amenities, activities and facilities of the Club and shall have the use of all the Clubs premises including the Games Room but excepting the Bowling Greens and Indoor Bowling Rinks. They shall not be entitled to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs. (4) Indoor Bowling Associate Members shall enjoy all the Indoor Bowling facilities and the social amenities, activities and facilities of the Club and shall have the use of all the Clubs premises with the exception of the Outdoor Bowling Greens and the Games Room. They shall NOT be entitled to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs with the exception of matters appertaining to indoor bowling activities. (5) Morning Indoor Bowling Associate Members shall enjoy limited indoor bowling facilities as permitted by the rules of the Club, and the Social activities and facilities of the Club, and shall have the use of all the Club’s premises with the exception of the Outdoor Bowling Greens and the Games Room. They shall NOT be entitled to vote in the management of the Club’s affairs with the exception of matters appertaining to indoor bowling activities. (6) Junior Indoor Members shall enjoy the Indoor Bowling facilities of the Club and shall have the use of the Club premises only so far as may be permitted from time to time by the rules of the Club. They shall not be permitted to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs. They shall be considered for Indoor Bowling Associate Membership of the Club on attaining the age of 16 years. In the event of there being a waiting list for admission, they shall be considered for the first available vacancy, so long as they have been a participating member of the Junior Indoor Section for at least Two years. (7) Junior Outdoor Members shall enjoy the Outdoor Bowling facilities of the Club and shall have the use of the Club premises only so far as may be permitted from time to time by the rules of the Club. They shall not be permitted to vote in the management of the Clubs affairs. They shall be considered for Ordinary Membership of the Club on attaining the age of 16 years. In the event of there being a waiting list for admission, they shall be considered for the first available vacancy, so long as they have been a participating member of the Junior Outdoor Section for at least Two years. 5: APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP: Every application for membership shall be proposed by one member and seconded by another and submitted to the Management Committee of the Club. Applications for Ordinary Membership must be proposed and seconded by Ordinary, Retired, Life, Social or Honorary Members. The name of the candidate and proposer and seconder shall be displayed on the Club Notice Board for one month after application and for at least fourteen days before election and any objections must be lodged with the Secretary in writing. At any time before election, the name of the candidate may be withdrawn at the request of the Management Committee or the proposer and seconder. ORDINARY MEMBERS. New members cannot be a member of another Bowling Club affiliated to the S.B.A. or S.W.B.A. Members cannot become a member of another Bowling Club affiliated to the S.B.A. or S.W.B.A. 6: ELECTION OF MEMBERS (1) The election of all members shall be in the hands of the Management Committee who shall decide whether and when an applicant shall be elected. The sons and daughters of Ordinary Retired, Life or Honorary Members with at least three years membership may be elected without reference to or entry into a Waiting List. (2) Recommendations for Honorary or Life Membership must firstly with permission by the Nominee be submitted in writing with reason for recommendation, to a Nominations Committee for their consideration. Recommendations made to be submitted to the Management Committee prior to automatic submission to Members at a General Meeting for their consideration. At least 90% of those who attend such General Meeting, and vote, must vote in favour, for such recommendations to be carried. Copy/s of a letter/s of recommendation/s to be shown on the notice boards. Voting will be by a paper vote of each nominee. Closed voted papers may be submitted to the President at a general meeting in the event of the member being on club duty or a representative game. (3) Members wishing to transfer to a different class of membership must make written application to Management Committee who shall have sole discretion to allow or disallow such transfer. Ordinary Members wishing to transfer to Indoor Bowling Associate Membership would normally be required to have at least 5 years continuous Ordinary Membership prior to application for transfer. 7: JOINING FEES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS: (1) Ordinary Members, Social Associate Members, Indoor Bowling Associate Members shall pay a joining fee which shall be fixed from time to time by the membership at an Annual General Meeting. (2) Members shall pay an Annual Subscription, the amount of which shall be fixed annually for each class of membership at an Annual General Meeting. The rate of Annual Subscription payable by the Ordinary Members shall never be more than twice the next highest annual subscription payable by any other member. (3) With the exception of the Indoor Bowling Associate Membership and Morning Indoor Bowling Associate Membership Annual Subscriptions which shall be paid by a date arranged by the Management Committee, all Annual Subscriptions shall be due and payable in advance of the date of commencement of the Clubs financial year and shall be paid by that date. Any member whose subscription remains unpaid and owing at that date shall, at the discretion of the Management Committee, cease to be a member. (4) The Annual subscription to be paid by a member admitted during the course of a financial year shall be payable in advance, calculated on a pro-rata basis of four three monthly periods subject to the date of commencement of the financial year for Ordinary Members and the date arranged for Indoor Bowling Associate Members and Morning Indoor Bowling Associate Membership as appropriate. 8: RESIGNATION: A member wishing to resign shall notify the Secretary to that effect in writing prior to the date of commencement of the Clubs financial year, otherwise he or she shall be held liable for the subscription for the year commencing on that date. 9: TRUSTEES: The whole property and assets of the Club, both heritable and moveable, shall be vested in the names of Five Trustees a majority to be a quorum. They shall be appointed and any vacancy shall be filled from the Ordinary, Honorary, Life or Retired Members of the Club by the Membership in General Meeting and they shall hold office until their deaths or resignations. No property whether heritable or moveable shall be sold without authority of the Trustees. 10: MANAGEMENT: (1) The Management and control of the Club shall be vested in a Committee elected for one year by the membership at an Annual General Meeting. It shall consist of Five Office Bearers, namely a President, Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and seven members, all of whom shall have been Ordinary Members of the Club for at least two years. Seven shall form a quorum. The Office Bearers and Members of Committee shall retire each year but shall be eligible for immediate re-election. (2) The Management Committee shall appoint from its own members or from Club Membership, a Green Ranger, a Match Secretary and any other Officers necessary for the administration of the Clubs activities. The Management Committee may fill by co-option any vacancy amongst its Office Bearers or members arising during the year and may co-opt additional members, such appointments to be confirmed at the next General Meeting of the Club. Any member of the Management Committee absenting himself from three consecutive meetings of the Committee without reasonable excuse shall be considered to have resigned his office. (3) The Management Committee shall frame Rules for the Management of the affairs of the Club and such Rules shall cover its own proceedings as well as the conduct of members and employees in the Club. It shall have the power to alter such Rules from time to time, as it may consider necessary but always within the scope of these Rules. The Rules shall be binding on all members and any infringement thereof shall be reported immediately to the Management Committee. (4) Voting at Meetings of the Management Committee shall be by majority and the Chairman at any Meeting shall have a deliberative as well as a casting vote. (5) Treasurers Duties: The Treasurer shall receive and disburse monies belonging to the Club and shall keep correct Accounts and Books of the financial intromissions of the Club and shall have these audited and certified annually by a Chartered Accountant prior to the Annual General Meeting. A copy of the Accounts, duly audited, shall be made available to each member prior to the Annual General Meeting. 11: MEETINGS: (1) The Members of the Club shall hold an Annual General Meeting and a ½ Yearly General Meeting on dates to be fixed by the Management Committee. Twenty-One day’s notice shall be given to all members of such Meetings by display on Club Notice Boards. The ordinary business of the Annual General Meeting shall be the approval of the Management Committees Report and Accounts for the previous financial year, The election of Office Bearers and Committees and appointments of Auditors for the current year and the approval of entry money and rates of subscription for the next financial year. Any motion relating to the affairs of the Club for discussion at a General Meeting must be submitted to the Secretary in writing, signed by two members at least Fourteen Days before the Meeting and intimated to all members at least Seven days before the Meeting by display on Club Notice Board. (2) An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by the Management Committee at any time either on its own initiative or on receipt of a written requisition signed by thirty or more members specifying the motion or motions to be submitted. Seven days notice specifying the motion or motions shall be given to all members of such Meetings, which shall be called within fourteen days of the requisition being received. (3) The Management Committee shall meet at least once in every month. (4) For the Purpose of voting on the ordinary business at the Annual General Meeting, a majority of those present shall be sufficient but at least two thirds of those present who vote must vote in favour of any motion or amendment at any General Meeting for such a motion or amendments to be carried excepting a motion under the provisions of Clauses Twelve, Seventeen and Eighteen hereof. At all meetings the Chairman shall have a deliberative and, in the case of equality, a casting vote 12: EXPULSION: If the Management Committee, in its sole discretion, considers that any member either in or out of the Club premises, is acting in contravention of the Constitution or Rules of the Club or conducting himself/herself in a manner unbecoming a member of the Club, it may, in the first instance, invite such member to resign and thereafter, if necessary, propose expulsion to an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Club at which a majority of those present and voting shall be sufficient for such motion to be carried. Management Committee in its sole discretion may ban/suspend, for a period of time, any person or member contravening the above club disciplines. 13: LEGAL PROCEEDINGS: The Club may sue in the name of the President, Secretary and Treasurer for the time being as representing themselves and the remaining Members of the Club. The Management Committee shall have the power to instruct such legal proceedings to be taken to defend any action that may be raised against the Club. 14: INTEREST IN ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR: No member of the Management Committee and no Manager, servant or employee of the Club shall have any personal interest in the sale of alcoholic liquors in or to the Club or in the profit arising from such sale. 15: CAPITAL FUNDS OF THE CLUB All monies, proceeds of sale of capital assets of the Club (as designated by the Management Committee), funds collected or accruing from special schemes and any other sums allocated by the Management Committee shall be held in a General Fund and shall be used for such purposes as are approved by the members in General Meeting. 16: POWERS OF INVESTMENT AND BORROWING: (1) In addition to the normal powers of Investment available to Trustees in Scotland, the Management Committee, on behalf of the Trustees, shall have the power to invest or re-invest the funds under their charge from time to time in the purchase of heritable property or in or upon the Bonds, Debentures, Preferred, Ordinary, Deferred or Common Stock or Shares of any Company, Corporation or other body registered or incorporated in the United Kingdom or British Commonwealth or in the United States of America. (2) The Management Committee, with the consent of the Trustees shall have power to borrow sums on behalf of the Club to such an extent as may be authorised by the members in General Meeting, for which sums the members shall be liable. 17: WINDING UP AND DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS: The Club shall be wound up, and the funds distributed, only at an Extraordinary Meeting called for that purpose, with at least three weeks notice given of such Meeting. At least 80% of the Honorary, Life, Social, Retired and Ordinary Members present at such a Meeting, must vote in favour for such a Motion to be carried. Any funds remaining after payment of every debt and liability due by the Club and shown to be free for distribution after duly audited Accounts shall be distributed equally among all Honorary, Life, Social, Retired and Ordinary Members of the Club who are fully paid up members at the date of the Extraordinary General Meeting at which the decision to wind up was approved. 18: NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION “The club is a non-profit organisation. All profits and surpluses will be used to improve the club’s facilities. No profit or surplus will be distributed other than to another non-profit making body or to members on winding up or dissolution of the club.” 19: ALTERATION OF THE CONSTITUTION: Any alteration of this Constitution may be made at an Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting provided that the requirements of Clause Eleven hereof are fulfilled and that at least 90% of the members present who vote must vote in favour for such alteration to be approved. 20: REGULATIONS AND SERVICE OF DRINKS: The Management Committee shall have control of and regulate the sale or supply of all alcoholic liquors in the Club premises. Following are the hours during which alcoholic liquors shall be permitted to be sold or supplied in the Club premises. The hours during which the sale, supply and consumption of alcoholic liquor in the Club premises shall be in accordance with the current Licensing (Scotland) Acts. No alcoholic liquor shall be sold or supplied in the Club premises for consumption off the premises except to a member of the Club in person for consumption by him/her or to a person holding a licence for the sale of such liquor. No alcohol shall be sold or supplied in the Club premises to any person under the age of 18 years. 21: VISITORS: (1) Each Member may introduce their wife/husband to the Club on any occasion and not more than four guests in any one day for any purpose. Junior members may not introduce guests to the Club. (2) A Member introducing a guest to the Club shall immediately upon the admission of such guest to the premises, enter the date, name and address of such guest in the book provided for that purpose, and sign each entry. A guest shall not be supplied with alcoholic liquor in the Club premises unless on the invitation, and in the company of a Club Member. (3) Each Ordinary, Honorary, Life, Retired, Member may introduce not more than one guest in any one month for the purpose of Outdoor Bowling. (4) If one rink or more is to be invited, permission must be previously obtained from the Management Committee. (5) Members who are permitted to use the Games Room may allow guest/s to use the facilities of the Games Room, so long as the member is also present. (6) No person under the age of 16 years shall be permitted to the Bars at any time, or to any part of the Club premises during Social Functions. (7) A member introducing visitors shall be responsible should they infringe the Rules of the Club. Date of Last Amendment May 2006 (AGM) BAINFIELD BOWLING & SOCIAL CLUB RULES
1. Financial Year: The financial year shall run from 1st April to 31st March. 2. Bank Account: The Bank Account or Accounts shall be in the name of the Club and shall not be operated upon except on the signature of the Treasurer and one of the Trustees, or the Secretary and one of the Trustees. 3. Secretary's Duties: The Secretary shall conduct all the correspondence of the Club, give notice and keep Minutes of all Meetings and maintain an up to date Register of the names and addresses of all Members. 4. Green Rangers Duties: The Green Ranger shall have the sole supervision of the Green Keeper, power to set the rinks as he thinks proper and determine when the green is unfit for play. 5 Club Premises: shall be closed each evening at 11.30pm, except by special permission of the Management Committee. 6(A). An Ordinary, Honorary, Life or Retired Member may invite one Visitor once per month for the purpose of playing outdoor bowls after 6pm, in their company and only if rinks are available. 6(B). The additional use of rinks as permitted after application to the Management Committee. 7A. Junior Outdoor Member may be permitted to play on the Outdoor Greens only if rinks are available. All Junior Members will not have the use of the Club premises with the exception of playing bowls, attending a organised bowling event, a Social Function or on the invitation of a Club Member who must have the Junior Member signed for in the Visitors Book and be in their company. 8A. Rules: The rights of the Management Committee to add to, amend and enforce these Rules are contained in Clause Ten (3) of the Constitution. 8B. Annual General Meeting. 1. Copy/s of a letter/s of recommendation/s of Life or Honorary Membership Nominations must be submitted to the Secretary in writing, signed by two members at least Fourteen Days before the Meeting and intimated to all members at least Seven days before the Meeting by display on Club Notice Board. (AGM May 2006) 2. Voting, will be by a paper vote of each nominee. (AGM May 2006) 3. Closed voted papers may be submitted to the President at a general meeting in the event of the member being on club duty or a representative game. (AGM May 2006) 9. Laws of the Game: The Laws of the Game shall be those of the International Bowling Association. 10. Rules of the Game: The Rules of the Game are contained in the Scottish Bowling Association Handbook. DATE OF LAST AMENDMENT (AGM May 2006) The Code of Conduct Members are reminded that this is a Private Club. Built up over the years by the Members for the benefit of all Membership, and for the advancement of the sport of Bowling. This is your Club and it is up to you to ensure that it continues to progress and that no person/s are allowed to degrade or damage the property/s or interest/s. It is also up to you to ensure that the rules of the Club are adhered to. Rules are made for the benefit of all Members and even if a rule conflicts with your own personal interests it must be remembered that the wish of the majority is paramount. The Management Committee is a voluntary body elected by the Membership at the Annual General Meeting each year and their commitment to the Club and the Membership should be respected for that. It should always be remembered that the Management Committees decisions are made for the benefit of the Club in general and not for the convenience of the Management Committee. Guests are the responsibility of the Member introducing that person/s and are expected to conform to the same standards as the expected of a Member. Children in the Club are welcome be must be subject to the Licensing Laws of the Scotland and the restrictions of the Club rules. They must be under, and in the control of the responsible adult/s Members are asked to make sure that their personal conduct and those of their guest/s are at all times are of the highest standard inside and outside the Club. They should never cause distress, embarrassment or inconvenience to other person whether a Club Member or not. Obscene language and rowdy behaviour will not be tolerated. Abuse of Club property will be strictly dealt with. Dress Code on the Greens, Smart Attire must be worn at all times of play on the Outdoor Greens and on the Indoor Carpet. Examples of dress considered inappropriate are Working Jeans (Dress Jeans acceptable), Shell Suits, TrackSuits, Sports Collarless Shirts, Shirts as in Football Colours. Failure to comply will result in withdrawal of the right to play. Annual General Meeting May 1996 Reviewed Annual General Meeting 24th May 1998. The above rule Status Quo. The Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy of Bainfield Bowling & Social Club 1. Bainfield Bowling Club has adopted the following policy in its work with children and vulnerable adults: - a) The needs and rights of children and vulnerable adults take priority over everything. b) It is the duty of every bowler to safeguard to the best of his or her ability, the welfare of and prevent the physical, sexual or emotional abuse of all children, and vulnerable adults with whom they come into contact during their bowling activities. 2. The Club will endeavour to ensure safeguarding by: • Actively encouraging a climate through which protection issues are regarded as an essential part of bowling activities and events; • Appointing a member to have responsibility for protection issues • Adopting protection guidelines that give clear procedures and a code of conduct for, members, paid staff, other helpers and associated volunteers; • Planning all events so that protection issues are properly addressed; • Sharing information on protection and good practice with children, parents and carers, members, staff, helpers and associated volunteers; • Issuing guidelines on how to deal with the disclosure or discovery of abuse and sharing information about concerns with agencies that need to know; • Providing appropriate training for members, staff, helpers and associated volunteers in the processes and procedures of child protection; • Following carefully the procedures for the recruitment and selection of members, staff, helpers and associated volunteers to assist with projects and activities; and Monitoring and reviewing this policy and the associated policies and procedures on a regular basis, at least annually. Outdoor Green Rules Greens open at 10am unless directed by the Management Committee and at the discretion of the Green Ranger. At all times League / Association Fixtures / Club Fixtures will take preference. All Sections (Senior, Ladies, Ordinary & Juniors) pre-book rinks in one book (Appointed Match Secretaries) Match Secretaries or Section Convenors or nominated official to ensure pre - booking of League Association games are entered, stringing, appointed Umpire / Markers. 10am -- 12 Noon Retired (Seniors) Members may have the use of the rinks from 10am until 12.00 Noon. Rinks not in use by 10.15 a.m. until Noon may be used by All classes of Outdoor Bowling Membership to play Bounce or Competition Ties but shall not be booked. (Competitive ties are bookable in the diary by Seniors ONLY.) Further Vacant Rinks may be played by Outdoor Junior Members (no visitors) on Rinks not in use by 10.15 a.m. until 12 p.m. but only during School Leave. 12 Noon - 2pm Retire (Seniors) Members may have the use of the rinks from Noon until 2pm.Rinks not in use by 12.15 p.m. until 2pm may be used by All classes of Outdoor Bowling Membership to play Bounce or Competition Ties but shall not be booked. (Competitive ties are bookable in the diary by Seniors ONLY.) Further Vacant Rinks may be played by Outdoor Junior Members (no visitors) on Rinks not in use by 12.30am until 2 p.m. but only during School Leave. 2pm -- 6pm Lady / Lady Retired Members may have the use of the rinks from 2pm until 6pm. Rinks not in use by 2.15 p.m. until 6pm may be used by All classes of Outdoor Bowling Membership to play Bounce or Competition Ties but shall not be booked. (Competitive ties are bookable in the diary by Ladies ONLY.) Further Vacant Rinks may be played by Outdoor Junior Members (no visitors) on Rinks not in use by 2.15 until 6pm but only during School Leave. Tuesday – Friday 6.30pm - Closure of the Greens (at the discretion of the Green Ranger) all outdoor MALE members may have the use of vacant rinks to play Competitive / competition ties. Booked rinks will have preference but only until 6.45 p.m. at which time the rink will have become vacant. Lady outdoor members may have the use of vacant rinks to play Competitive / competition ties. Booked rinks will have preference but only until 6.45 p.m. at which time the rink will have become vacant. (Competitive ties are bookable in the diary by Gents/ Ladies ONLY.) Evening Booked Sessions, Members may book a second session if required. Saturday / Sunday Greens open at 10am unless at the discretion of the Management Committee From 10am until closure, all outdoor members may have the use of vacant rinks. Club or Association games shall take preference. All classes of Outdoor Bowling Membership may book rinks to play competition ties but no player can be compelled to play a tie on a Sunday with the exception of the Male Triples which are played on a Sunday. (Competitive ties are bookable in the diary by Gents/ Ladies ONLY.) N.B. Juniors Outdoor Members Under 14 years of age must leave the Club by 9pm. Monday Hat Night is open to male and female members and may enter the Jim McArthur Points Trophy. Monday Hat Night shall take preference of All Rinks required. All classes of outdoor members may have the use of vacant rinks from 7pm to play ties ONLY but shall not be booked. Juniors can put their name forward but only where there are vacancies available and members will always have priority to participate in Hat Nights. (It is anticipated that barring unforeseen circumstances e.g. Scottish Fours, only one green available etc. there will generally be places available for the juniors to be involved in Hat Nights.) 2. Juniors are not eligible for Hat Night Points. (AGM 2007) Scottish Fours, Triples Competitions shall be played on Scottish Settings. Greens Diary shall be retained in the “SNUG BAR LOUNGE”. All sections / Members will use ONE Diary. Challenge Books shall be retained in the “SNUG BAR LOUNGE”. All sections / Members will use SECTION Diaries. C:\Outdoor New Rule.2000 Date of Last Amendment May 2003 (AGM) Bainfield Bowling & Social Club Rules and Regulations for INDOOR CompetitionsCOMPETITION ENTRY All Players taking part must be members of Bainfield Bowling & Social Club unless otherwise stipulated. It is a condition of entry that EVERY fixture must be fulfilled. In all matches the Rink Skip will be required to complete and return to the Indoor Office or by entry on the notice boards as necessary ALL names of members playing in that rink and will be required to fulfil all the fixtures of that seasons play. All games must be played precisely as specified in the Competition TimeTable. Where a team is incomplete at the time when a game is due to start, the skip must accept the first substitute players available in the first instance from the Sub Black Board by the Indoor Office, then from any Pool Players present in the Stadium and legally available. COMPETITION ENTRY FEE must be paid BEFORE the commencement of that competition. RINK FEES must be paid BEFORE the commencement of that game. DEFAULTERS are not allowed to play in any following games until the default monies are paid. Indoor AGM 1998 The named person in charge of the rink is responsible for the rink fees/ entry fee of each member of the rink. It is also their responsibility to ensure that no Non Eligible persons play in his rink. A rink which includes a non-eligible member in a game will forfeit the points and shots scored in that game and the rink will be disqualified. RATE OF RINK FEES will be agreed by the membership attending at the Annual General Meeting to which ALL Members of Bainfield Bowling & Social Club may attend. RINK FEES 2006 Ladies & Gents £1.80p Seniors £1.40p Morning only, Visitor’s £2.60p All non-members will pay the Visitors Rate Juniors £0.80p The Rule is “If You Play You Pay” Responsible Person. The Named person will be the responsible person of that rink in all aspects. Competition TimeTables will be posted on the Notice Boards at least 8 days in advance and will be the only notification for the Competition and must be complied with. Contesting Skips are responsible for Rink Fees and the Players in their team. SUBSTITUTES may list their name and telephone number on the provided Pool List to be contacted if required to play as a substitute. Substitutes attending the club for the opportunity to play must list their name on the blackboard provided at the Indoor Office in order of attendance. A team having a player short must play any available substitute in the order of the above listing. Substitutes may play in same a rink twice only, on the third substitution they must decline or join that rink and must not play in any another rink in that competition. Substitutes playing must play in the following format: - Pairs.........as Lead, Triples........as Lead, Fours......as Lead or Second A rink of four, fielding three players they must play Lead = Three bowls, Second = Three bowls, Skip Two bowls and they will quarter their score at the end of that game. Substitution Amount of games permitted Limited to maximum substitutions: - Evening League (Monday to Friday) Open to Ladies and Gentlemen. (AGM May 2006) League September - December 15 Games. League January - March 15 Games. Sunday Triples 15 Games. K.O. Competitions Any substitute playing in a winning team is allowed to take part in the particular competition he subs for. If he is in the losing team he will no longer take part in that competition. Two points will be awarded for a win and one point for a draw. If there is a Tie for any of the Four top places, the team with the greater number of SHOTS UP will be declared the winner. In the event of equality in both points and shots, the result of their League game will be the deciding factor. If a previous session has delayed the commencement of the next session, after a period of 5 Minutes, the responsible persons of both rinks should notify to the person in charge of the Indoor Office of the delay. LENGTH OF THE GAME Each game will consist of a maximum of a nominated number of ends or a time limit normally: - (Rinks 2 Hours or 15 ends) (Triples 2 Hours 15 ends) (Pairs 2 Hours 17 ends or as indicated by the Indoor Committee) (Singles or as indicated by the Indoor Committee). A bell will be sounded 15 minutes prior to the end of each session when one more end will be played. An end will be deemed to have started when the mat has been properly laid and the Jack delivered from the leading player’s hand. If the Jack has been legally sent before the bell has been sounded then that end will be deemed to be the Second Last End. Last End if burnt will be replayed once only. PERIOD OF GRACE 5 MINUTES will be allowed for a full team to appear and the match will then be played to the shortened period. If after 5 minutes a team is not on the rink to play, the opponents will be declared the winners and be awarded TWO POINTS AND 8 SHOTS. PLAYERS NAMES (INCLUDING SUBSTITUTES) : - All rinks (Fours) must list 5 or more players in the team and submit the list to the Indoor Office. Indoor AGM 1998 : - All Triples (3s) must list 4 or more players in the team and submit the list to the Indoor Office. Indoor AGM 1998 The Names of all players taking part in each game must be recorded on the scorecard and the card deposited in the box provided at the Indoor Office. Substitutes must be named and recorded as NAME Sub on the scorecard. PLAYERS Each Skip is responsible for ensuring that no non-eligible members play in his team. A team, which includes a non-eligible player in a game, may forfeit the points, and the shots scored in that game and the team is liable to be disqualified. If a Pool Player plays more that two games for any one rink, he is committed to play for that rink. SHORT OF PLAYERS When a team is short of one player, the skip must report to the Official on duty who will call for a Pool player. If no Pool Player is available the team may play three players. Lead playing three bowls, Second playing three bowls and the Skip playing two bowls. The Team must deduct a Quarter their score at the end of their game. If both rinks are playing three players both teams must quarter their scores at the end of their game. MIXED KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS Mixed Fours Competitions will consist of Two Men & Two Ladies. The players playing in the first game will be the recognised team. Substitute rules applies thereafter. Substitutes playing in the Knockout Competitions can only substitute in further rounds of that competition if substituting in a winning rink. Any member/s entering the Knockout Competitions and having to scratch for any reason/s, the member/s of that rink will not substitute or join in any other rink of that competition In the event of a tie an extra end/s will be played to determine a winner. PAIR’s COMPETITIONS Both Players are to be named upon entry and be named on the draw sheet. In the event of a tie an extra end/s will be played to determine a winner. SINGLES COMPETITIONS In the event of a tie an extra end/s will be played to determine a winner. Singles Ties (Gents) Sessions £1 entry + £1 per player per game Session Start Time End Bell Rung at 6.30pm 7.45pm 7.50pm 9.05pm 9.10pm 10.25pm A warning bell will be rung 5 minutes prior to the end of the timed session The last EIGHT of the Scottish Indoor Singles will play first to 21 shots and not time limited. Indoor AGM 1998 The end in progresses at the bell will determinate the tie. NOTE: - Last End will not be replayed if BURNT CASUAL / BOUNCE GAMES, member/s and their guest/s may have the use of rinks if available and pay the appropriate fee to the Indoor Office or the Main Bar. BOOKED RINK/S, Available Rinks may be booked in advance and will be charged for EIGHT players. A lesser amount of players attending must pay the difference of the eight players. UMPIRES A call for an umpire may be answered by any person willing to carry out this duty and be agreed by both Skips. All players must move away from the Head and await the umpire’s decision. Any decision made by that umpire will be final. DISPUTES OR PROTESTS arising in or after the course of a game must in the first instance be notified to the member on duty in the Indoor Office, and be confirmed in writing WITHIN 48 HOURS to the Indoor Match Secretary citing all persons involved. The decision of the Indoor Committee will be final. CANCELLED/ POSTPONED GAMES will only be granted if two or more players of a rink are representing Bainfield in an Official Competition or attending the Presentation of Prizes of their Outdoor Club (Singles are EXCLUDED) which must be notified in writing to the Indoor Match Secretary at least TWO weeks prior to that date). The Postponed / Cancelled Game will be replayed (if necessary) as arranged by the Indoor Match Secretary date and times will be notified on the Notice Boards 7 Clear Days. before. In exceptional circumstances a game may be arranged within the 8 days provided that all parties are in agreement. Notice of Cancellation Amendments of Games By the Indoor Secretary / Committee, 7 Clear Days. By the Player/s, for Outdoor Club AGMs or Annual Dance or Official Representation of Bainfield. 7 Clear Days Mobile phones must be switched off in the Indoor Stadium. Should anyone require their mobile phone, (as in case of an emergency,) they must contact a club official before entering the stadium.02/10/2000. DRESS CODE Members & Visitors SMART ATTIRE must be worn at all times of play on the Indoor Carpet. Examples of dress considered inappropriate are T. Shirts, Shell Suits, and Track Suits. Sports Shirts as in Football Colours and Jeans. Dress Jeans are acceptable Failure to comply will result in withdrawal of the right to play. GAME FAILURE If a Rink / Triple / Pair / Single fails to fulfil a fixture the Player/s are liable to pay their own rink fees and their opponents. WITHDRAWING TEAMS a team withdrawing from the League/League Cup/Triples after its commencement. All other teams in that section will be awarded 2 points and 8 Shots inclusive of all games previously played EXCEPT FOR THE ABOVE REGULATIONS, THE RULES ADOPTED BY THE SCOTTISH INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION, GOVERNING BODY WILL APPLY 26th August 1997 Indoor Annual Meeting
