Bowling Diary by Co-ordinator Alex Cumming Dec 2005 - Feb 2006 Recently the 2005 Headwell Team Championships Final was played at Headwell on the 18th of December and won by Headwell with Bainfield Runners-Up. __________________________ In the recent Ladies Under 25s International, Scotland lost to England and Northern Ireland, but managed to beat Wales. Both our representatives thoroughly enjoyed their experience - namely Mandy O'Donnell and Kathryn Crombie. Who both have a bright future ahead of them. __________________________ On Saturday 17th December Bainfield Gents team travelled to Prestwick, but suffered an 85-59 defeat. the rink scores were as follows.
__________________________ After three defeats in a row the Bainfield Gents team beat Nithsdale by 74 shots (127-53). All Bainfield rinks won their games - skips were as follows:- Robert Marshall, Gavin Smith, Paul O'Donnell and Alex Ross. This was an important result as it kept us in a position of safety in section "A" of the Premier League. __________________________ The Bainfield Seniors Team for the Scottish Cup game against Tweedbank at Midlothian on Wed 8th February was as follows -

The result was as follows - Bainfield lost the game on shots. __________________________ Scottish Team Championship 2006 - Sunday 5th Feb 2006 V Stirling @ Falkirk Singles - Steven Pilley Mixed Pairs - Nora Gilmour, Ian Mowat Mixed Triples - Sylvia McAnna, Willie Garden and Stuart Patterson Mixed Fours - Aimee Robertson, Kathryn Crombie, Chris Steven, Jamie Gracie The result was as follows - Bainfield shared the points 4-4 with Stirling at Falkirk, but made a 57-43 exit on shots. __________________________ In a recent Seniors Top Six game (26th-27th Jan) the results were as follows.
__________________________ Bainfield's only representative in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games Colin Mitchell returned home from Melbourne, Australia last week after an 11 day stay. He managed to get in a few practice sessions and a bit of sightseeing and found his journey very worthwhile. __________________________ On the 18th January Bainfield's Seniors competed in the East Lothian Jock Brodie Trophy against Perth Seniors and lost by 31 shots to 39 shots. Bill Little Won 13-10 John summers Won 13-11 Charlie Adamson Lost 13-20 __________________________ In the first round of the Gents Scottish Cup Bainfield have drawn either Ayr or Allander on the 4th March. __________________________ Congratulations to Ross Neil for qualifying for the final stages of the "Richard Corsie Challenge". The Finals will be played on Sunday 2nd April at Midlothian Bowling Club. __________________________ The final of the under 13s Championship is between Steven Pringle and Steven Rennie. To be played in Finals week. __________________________ After 5 games in the Gents Divisions 1, two teams are setting the pace at the top. Both on 8 points. Alex Ross + 41 shots and Barry Hill + 15 shots. After 5 games in the Seniors Division 1 Bruce Methvens's team is setting the pace with a maximum of 10 points. __________________________ |
