Bowling Diary by Co-ordinator Alex Cumming Nov- Dec 2005 On Saturday 19th November Bainfield travelled south to Dumfries and had a brilliant win over Nithsdale by 84 shots to 73. The hero figure was Team Captain Colin Mitchell, who skipped Colin Hutchison, Darren Grant and Stuart Ross to a magnificent 16 shot victory. In a thrilling climax to the match, the rinks skipped by Robert Marshall, Paul O'Donnell and Alex Ross all dug deep to give us a well earned victory. __________________________ During November Bainfield Seniors met Balbardie Bowling Club from Bathgate and it turned out to be a very exciting game. with Bainfield coming out on top beat 58 shots to 53. The start man was John Summers who skipped his rink to a fabulous 22-8 win. __________________________ On Wednesday 30th November Bainfield Seniors travelled to Dalkeith, but were up against a very good Midlothian team, who triumphed by 79 shots to 63 shots. The rink scores were as follows - F. Gray 28 - John Summers 8, A. Cox 20 - Alan Craig 16, J.R Anderson 14 - Charlie Adamson 22, R.G Miller 17 - Bill Little 17. __________________________ In the Men's National (2 Bowl Pairs) Paul O'Donnell and his partner David Beeson won their first two games, but alas were eliminated in their third game. __________________________ Bainfield Ladies Team are currently in fourth place in the league with 5 points from 5 games. Their next game should be a cracker as they play Falkirk at home on Saturday 17th December. Falkirk are top of the league with a maximum 10 points from 5 games. The game starts at 2pm. __________________________ Four of Bainfield's brightest young talents have been selected to play for the Scottish (Under 25) International team at the Jim Baker Stadium County Antrim, Northern Ireland. On the 14th and 15th January 2006. They are Paul O'Donnell, Craig Moss, Chris Steven and Colin Hutchison. Only Chris has previous experience of playing at this level, when he was a member at the Edinburgh Club. A couple of years ago. We wish them all well. __________________________ Paul O'Donnell and his pairs partner John McCrorie from East Lothian IBC have qualified to the last 16 of the World Pairs at Potters Leisure Centre (9th January) in England. They are drawn against Andy Thomson and Ian Bond in their first game of bowls at this level, so we wish them well. __________________________ The Scottish Team Championship at Headwell IBC Dunfermline
__________________________ In the Ladies National Pairs, Ann Watson and Sheila Smeal were beaten at West Lothian on 3rd December, so go out of the competition. __________________________ On Wednesday 7th December Bainfield Seniors beat Tweedbank in a very close game at the Bainfield stadium by 69 shots to 66. Charlie Adamson and his rink did particularly well as they won their game by 21 shots. The rink scores were as follows
